Keith   Bender  has been treating low back pain and other musculoskeletal conditions since he qualified in 1981 from The British College of Naturopathy and Osteopathy now known as The British College Of Osteopathic Medicine (B.C.O.M.) . Thirty two years later he re-qualified with a 2nd D.O. (Diploma of Osteopathy) in 2013 , a unique achievement .

My goal is to relieve you of your PAIN and to help you manage your BACK as simply as possible.

Your BACK is unique, so your TREATMENT will be appropriate to the needs of your condition.

FIRST APPOINTMENT:   What  to expect  ...
1.  History .
Every problem has a story and yours is unique.
Questions need to be asked to establish precisely what has happened.
Firstly , an accurate  diagnostic assessment  has to be carried out before proceeding to treatment.

2.  Examination.
Before treating the problem a number of simple tests  will be done based on what has been revealed by your history.
This will include taking your blood pressure, checking reflexes & movements both actively & passively to help pin point the areas involved.
X-rays, MRI scans or Ultrasound:
It may be necessary if your condition requires it for an investigatory procedure to be carried out, so that the most effective treatment plan can be determined.
3. Treatment:Providing that the history and examination do not require
the need for further investigation, we can proceed.
Physical therapy is deep soft tissue akin to massage and where appropriate with your consent ,  manipulation will be used.
4/ Instructions: After finishing treatment, personal instructions on how to manage your condition will be given. Depending on its severity , this could include ice or heat(or both), along with postural advice and very specific rehabilitative exercises to support the structure and function of the affected area.

ANOTHER APPOINTMENT ?
It is a very fortunate  individual who can return to full health in just one treatment. Invariably, a follow up is a necessity in the vast majority of cases.
The number of treatments depends on the nature of the problem. Back problems are unique to each and every person whatever their age and gender, and even if you  have been for treatment before, all due care and attention will be given to you as if it were your first time.

Remember, we only see a brief moment of your life when  your are with us . Your back can change from one moment  to the next.
